Consignment or Purchases
We actively purchase and seek consignments of high quality works of art. Our expert staff is ready to assist in researching and evaluating your paintings, but we need a little help from you.
It is very difficult to describe art of any kind over the phone. In general, we would prefer that you send digital images in jpeg format (or cell phone photographs) to art@cincyart.com. Your email should include information (if available) about the signature, date, any labels, the condition of the item and size (H x W). After we have reviewed your images and information, we will call or write with answers.
CONSIGN TO US
The gallery prefers to work on a consignment basis. First, we work with the consignor to come up with an appropriate retail price. Next, we work out a net amount to be paid to the consignor if the painting sells. This can either be a fixed amount or a percentage of the selling price. We suggest that it is realistic to set up a six month consignment period. We insure all works during the consignment period at the gallery.
Sell To Us
On occasion, we will pay a fair and competitive cash price for the purchase of individual pieces or collections. After reviewing the photos and information provided, we will consult with the seller on appropriate pricing. If the gallery agrees to make an offer, the seller must be in a position to promptly respond to the offer. Any offer can be withdrawn at any time and will not be binding on either party until a purchase agreement is signed by both parties.
Appraisals
We offer free informal verbal appraisals on some works of art as well as formal written appraisals (for a fee). Please call to discuss your item(s).
You will need to provide us with the following:
Digital images (jpg format) including detail of signature (a quality cell phone photo may suffice)
Dimensions (H x W)
Medium (e.g. oil on canvas, watercolor, etc.)
Framing information
Other relevant information (history of ownership if available, labels, exhibition history)
Framing & Restoration Services
Visit the showroom on our 2nd floor and allow our knowledgeable staff to evaluate your work of art or collection and provide free estimates for painting conservation, custom framing, and frame restoration. We will guide you through the process of presenting your artwork to its' maximum advantage, offering the most currant archival products. Our value adding services will protect and enhance your investment.
